This post has nothing to do with the popular, violent, and graphic television program called, "The Walking Dead". This post is about real walking dead people who have inhabited the earth since Noah left the ark.
Jesus Himself called people who refuse to follow Him and do God's will, "dead".
In Luke 9:60, Jesus said to the man who made the excuse that he could not follow Jesus because his father had died and he had to turn back to bury him...
"Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God." Jesus was calling those who refuse to follow Him for this reason or that, "dead."
In Mark 12: 26, Jesus quoted God as saying,
"I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Then, Jesus said of God, "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living." Not only was Jesus saying that the three great men mentioned by Him were still spiritually alive, bualso read Luke 20:38) Again Related: If you read Matthew 17:1-5, you will see that Moses and Elijah were alive and well and speaking with Jesus hundreds and hundreds of years after their earthly lives were over.
Jesus condemned the religious men of His time who were very pious and self-righteous (that means their righteousness came from themselves, and not from their faith in Christ). These men wore long beautiful robes and made up human rules and rituals as if they came from God. Jesus said these men were like "white -washed tombs full of dead men's bones" (Matthew 23:27). In Jude 12, such men are called, "twice dead".
There are billions of people on earth who are physically alive, but spiritually dead. Being outside of Christ, they remain "dead in their sins" and have no concept of the eternal life offered to their souls by Jesus Christ. Read Ephesians 2:1 and Colossians 2:13-14.
